We have introduced a revolutionary new system for continuous high tonnage pneumatic bulk conveying - the K Pump. Designed to save power, space and maintenance costs, the K Pump system led those who were presently using screw pumps to look very closely at their profitability. There is a general awareness that the screw system not only requires very high levels of electrical power but also that the nature of the screw action leads to continuous problems of wear on all moving parts. This results in regular replacement.

The K-Pump, like anything else which offers the industry better efficiency and lower running costs, has met with an enthusiastic response and is the latest development from a company with a track record of innovative and soundly researched ideas. The key to the system is the Dome Valve, which has been the lynch pin of successful Denseveyor Dense Phase Pneumatic Conveying System.

SYSTEM DETAILS

The K-Pump is a complete pneumatic system comprising of two pressure vessels, a transfer and a dispensing vessel. Dispensing vessel is positioned over conveying pipeline and kept under constant pressure. Material falls into the transfer vessel via the dome valve. Once the specified level inside the transfer vessel is achieved probe-monitored second dome valve positioned on a transfer vessel opens. Compressed air pressurized the transfer vessel and pressure balance between transfer and dispensing vessel is achieved by means of a balancing system which allows excess air to be recirculated into the conveying pipeline.

A third dome valve is positioned at the base of the dispensing vessel, and this has a unique positioned device which either opens or closes in order to regulate the correct flow of the material based on the line pressure.

The whole system, which is controlled through a programmable unit, allows total flexibility, and a typical installation is approximately 2M high making it ideal for those with limited headroom. The special, advanced design provides a powerful yet compact unit, easily retrofitted into existing installations, especially those where screw pumps have been used and utilization can be made of the same pipeline and the same compressor.

Unlike the screw system, there is no drive motor, which leads to considerable power savings and exceptionally low maintenance. Total operating costs have been reduced as much as 60-70%

OPERATING ADVANTAGES

The K-Pump can operate in medium to long distance conveying, that is distances from 300 - 2500 M upto 150 TPH. It is fully automatic and totally enclosed, ensuring dust free operation. The K-Pump can fit directly under hoppers in place of screw pumps or blow tanks, no additional height is required, and is capable of transferring an impressive range of materials continuously. These include barites, bauxite, bentonitge, Portland cement, cement raw materials, dried clays, pulverized coal, code dust, dolomite, flue dusts, fluorspar, fly ash, Fuller's earth, calcined gypsum and lime.

As with all other products, evaluations and tests have been made beyond operational requirement in the field.

DISTINCT ADVANTAGES OVER CONVENTIONAL SCREW PUMP

  • Long transfer distance capability upto 2500 Mtrs.

  • Simple retrofit for screw pump.

  • Low head height means direct access to hoppers.

  • Low power consumption.

  • Low material degradation.

  • Low maintenance costs.

  • Utilizes smaller pipe work.
  • MATERIALS THAT CAN BE CONVEYED

Fly Ash, Barytes, Bauxite, Bentonite, Portland Cement, Cement Raw Materials, Dried Clays, Pulverized Coal, Coke Dust, Dolomite, Flue Dusts, Flourspar, Fuller's Earth, Calcined Gypsum, Lime. Besides these, numerous materials can be conveyed by the K Pump.
